🏞️ Welcome to the Stanley Gama Sanctuary
A Beacon of Resilience and Compassion
The Stanley Gama Sanctuary—a refuge where animals live free from fear, exploitation, and suffering. Born from crisis, it stands today as a living testimony to healing, courage, and kindness.

🌱 Our Story: From Drought to Sanctuary
Founded in 2022, Forged by Crisis
The Stanley Gama Sanctuary emerged during the devastating 2022 drought that struck Kenya’s Amboseli ecosystem. The disaster wiped out countless animals and plunged many pastoralist families into poverty after losing their livestock.
In desperation, families sold their healthiest animals just to feed the weaker ones. Emaciated cows needed five people just to stand. Some families never recovered. Amid the heartbreak, a new vision took root.
A Radical Choice
Instead of continuing the cycle of using animals for food or products, we chose to love and protect them. We committed never to eat them or use their products again. Thus, the Stanley Gama Sanctuary was born—a space for care, recovery, and respect for life.
🐾 Who Lives Here
A Growing Family of Survivors
Today, the Stanley Gama Sanctuary is home to:
🐶 1 dog and 🐱 1 cat rescued from abandonment
🐐 15 goats, 🐑 9 ewes, and 3 rams rescued from slaughter
🐏 66 goats and sheep in total
🐄 34 cows, saved and thriving
Here, animals live naturally. We do not interfere in their reproduction. They are free to mate, raise their young, and live their lives with dignity and autonomy.

💚 Why We Exist
Resilience. Compassion. Love.
The Stanley Gama Sanctuary stands for:
Animal dignity and protection
Non-exploitation and plant-based living
Community transformation through ethical choices
We honor our deep bond with animals—not by using them, but by standing beside them.
🔧 Challenges We Face
Every Day Is a Battle to Provide
We are making great strides, but daily challenges persist:
Feeding 100+ animals
Providing clean water and veterinary care
Maintaining shelters and expanding grazing areas
Recovering from outbreaks and disasters
Despite our determination, our resources are stretched thin. We dream of building better shelters, installing a reliable water system, and securing more land for our rescued family.

💔 A Plea From the Sanctuary
Is There Anyone Who Cares?
Eleven precious lives have already been lost.
We ask, with open hearts:
Can you hear their silent cries?
Will you help us stop this suffering?
Can your $5 or $10 save a life?
We will not give up—because their lives depend on us all.
